November 1 , 2004 Update

1. Uniforms - Just a reminder that teams IF teams are going to change tops/uniforms after their warm up, that they MUST do it in a change room or somewhere away from the public. This rule is in place for league, tournaments and exhibition games.

2. Ringette Tournament - The 6th annual high school Ringette tournament will be held on December 10-12 at the Maples Mulitplex arena. This is NOT a MHSAA sanctioned event. Registration deadline is Monday, November 15 and the coach must have level 1 coaching certification. There is no limit on AA players and schools can only co-op with one other school. 3. Pole Vault Equipment - Roseau Valley school has one almost new pole vault pole, 1 well used pole vault pole, 2 aluminum pole vault and training poles. Interesting trades considered. Jason at 427-2143 or mateychukj@borderland.ca

4. JV Rural Volleyball Championships will be hosted in Virden on November 19 & 20.

5. "A" Basketball - has found a home for the championships, which will be in Hartney on March 17-19, 2005.

6. Power Reading for Athletes - there will be a 3-part series on the Power Reading for Athletes program airing on A-Channel News Monday November 1st, Tuesday Nov 2nd, and Wed. Nov. 3rd. For more information, contact Niall Edwards at 479-2590

8. MPETA hires new School Activities Coordinator - The Manitoba Physical Education Teachers Association is very pleased to announce the hiring of Ms. Faralee Shipley as Schools Physical Activity Coordinator. Faralee is from the Manitoba Fitness Council where she has been the Executive Director. .

9. Basketball Rulebooks - Please place your orders for basketball rulebooks immediately. We order the rulebooks from the United States in quantity orders and once we sell out, the price will go up considerably. Please use the rulebook order forms available online at www.mhsaa.ca in the forms section.

10. Floorball - Plan your Floorball clinics now! Contact Brian Zimmer at 925-5643 to set up your date. Please order your sticks now as well. There are some great stick deals available right now.

11. School Information Sheets - Please make sure that you update your school information sheets. Many schools are still missing emails and lists of coaches.
