Notices of Motion - The 2004-2005 Notices
of Motion are now available on the website www.mhsaa.ca.
2.
Annual General Meeting - The 2004 MHSAA Annual General
Meeting will be held June 20 - 22, in Portage La
Prairie Manitoba. Registration will be $160.00 per person.
This fee includes meals and accommodations as well as
registration. Plan now to attend. Registration forms are
on the website.
3. TRI-MEET - Any high school track and field athlete
who has met provincial standards, or who medals at provincial
championship meets, is strongly encouraged to submit their
name to become part of Manitoba's provincial team, that
will compete against Saskatchewan and Alberta. These events
are also used to help identify potential athletes for
the 2005 Canada Games team. Further information please

Volleyball Tournament - There is a 96 team high school
volleyball tournament October 21, 22, 23 in Morinville
Alberta. It is a senior high tournament with 48 boys and
48 girls teams and the entry fee is $200.00 per team.

Volleyball lines - There seems to be some confusion
as to the thickness of the lines on a volleyball court.
The rule book states that the all volleyball lines shall
be 5 cm wide. Please consider this when putting down new
lines on your gym floor.
6.
Urban Student Representative -The MHSAA is seeking
candidates for the position of Urban Student Representative
on the Board of Directors, for the upcoming year(s).
Application
and criteria must be:
- S3 student in 2004/2005
- Endorsement by principal
- Available for four meetings per year, during the school
year
- Available to assist in some preparations for championships
hosted in Winnipeg
- Applications are due at the MHSAA office before May
28, 2004

Candidates
must include a paragraph, that states why he/she believes
that she/he should be on the board of directors and how
he/she believes that they can represent Winnipeg high
schools.

2004-05 Championships and Events - are posted on our
website in the left column, under Provincial
Championships .
8.
CIBC Scholar/Athlete Award - Application forms for
the CIBC Scholar/Athlete Awards, Jostens' High School
Athlete of the Year, and Grey Cup High School Coach of
the Year will be posted on the website on Wednesday.
9.
Baseball Tournament - The annual High school baseball
tournament has been moved to Brandon. Contact Rick DeGangne
at Crocus Plains 729-3900 for more information.
10.
Just a reminder - that for sports such as baseball
and rugby - All MHSAA rules and regulations must be followed.
Schools caught violating these rules may be subject to
fines. Eligibility sheets must be submitted online by
May 16.

Champions - MHSAA' s Cross-mentoring program will
hold it's next workshop on Friday October 1st and Saturday,
October 2nd, 2004. Contact Ron Paseshnik at 925-5643
