MHSAA Update
September 18, 2009
Number 2
1. Please update your coaches email addresses and phone numbers on the
on the Ex Net information sheet. You must have your school code and
password to log on. You will first need to enter your enrollment numbers,
click submit school information, and a list of MHSAA Sports will appear
beneath the Phys Ed section with space to enter your coaches email address
etc.
This must be completed by September 30th. Failure to update
this info may result in a $100.00 fine. If you have any question concerning
the ExNet system or school information sheet contact Jo-Ann at 925-5640 or info@mhsaa.ca. This sheet should be filled out at
the start of the year and is part of the school information sheet where you
would update school information, enrollments, etc.
2. Eligibility Deadlines- Deadline for golf eligibility is September
22, and Football is September 25. The eligibility information has to be
entered on the ExNet system on the MHSAA website. on line. Failure to
enter your eligibility on-line will result in a $100.00 fine.
3. Eligibility online submissions - just a reminder that all schools
must submit their student athletes online regardless of whether or not they
are advancing to the provincial championships. If a school has a
team/individual in an MHSAA activity, they must be entered on the MHSAA
online system. This is the only way to keep track of the eligibility of ALL
of Manitoba's high school student athletes.
4. Hazing - Hazing in High School Sports is not appropriate or
acceptable. Please refer to the information and articles on the MHSAA
Website in the following link http://www.mhsaa.mb.ca/pages/hazing.php
5. Technology Committee - The MHSAA is trying to create a technology
committee. We are looking for a small group of technology savvy individuals
to assist the MHSAA in maximizing opportunities through the computer, the
web, etc. Please contact Morris if interested, and please circulate to the
technology folks that you know.
6. Artistic students- we are looking for students to help us design a
promotional brochure for high school sport and as well to create some
promotional video clips to promote high school sport and sportsmanship. If
you have students that are interested, please contact the MHSAA. Gift
certificates will be awarded to students.
7. Champions Cross Mentoring Program. The Champions Cross Mentoring
Program will be held on Thursday and Friday October 29th and 30th in the
Sport Manitoba building. This is a great program that teaches student
leaders how to make the right choices concerning drugs, alcohol, and other
drugs. It would be very worthwhile for students to attend. Contact Ron at
925-5643 or champions@mhsaa.ca for further
information. Visit our link http://www.mhsaa.mb.ca/pages/champions_mentor.php.
8. Sun Dog Sunglasses fund raiser- The MHSAA will again be offering the
fantastic Sun Dog fundraiser this year. Details will be forwarded shortly.
This is an easy way to generate some dollars. Stay tuned...
9. Cross Country meet - Zone 6 is hosting an OPEN meet on October 7,
starting at 2:00 pm at the actual Provincial Cross Country Course at Spruce
Woods Park. There is a $5.00 fee per competitor, and all entries are to be
in to Marvin Gundrum at mgundrum@prspirit.ca by October 2. This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with this
year's Provincial Cross
Country Course.
10. The Manitoba Volleyball Association (MVA) is requesting that all
High School Coaches fill out and fax in the Graduating Athlete
Identification Form. The MVA will be using this list to form a master list
of all graduating players to post to the MVA website
(www.manitobavolleyball.com). This list may then be used as a guide, for all
coaches across the province, to use when nominating athletes for the
Graduating All-Star Banquet & Match. The MVA will also use this list to
verify athlete eligibility for the event.
Please click on the link below for a copy of the form. Your
assistance in this process is greatly appreciated. http://www.manitobavolleyball.com/files/Identification%20form.pdf
