2.. Grade 9 Provincial Volleyball Championship:  The Grade 9 Provincial Volleyball Championship will be taking place November 28 & 29, 2008 in Winnipeg.  This event is open to all grade 9 teams across Manitoba to a maximum of 16 teams per gender.  Registration is accepted on a first serve basis.  We are looking for host for this event so if you are interested  please call 925-5783.   For further information on the event or to register please go to:  http://www.manitobavolleyball.com/files/Gr%209%20Prov%20Reg%20Package.pdf
 
3.. Graduating All-Star Banquet & Match:  The Manitoba Volleyball Association Graduating All-Star Banquet & Match will be held on Saturday December 13, 2008 in Winnipeg.  Further information on the event including how to nominate and deadline will be send out to all High School Volleyball Coaches in the coming weeks. 
 
4.. Volleyball Referees Needed:  We need officials to meet the demand for volleyball, if you are 18 and over and interested in officiating please call Mitch Davidson at 925-5784. Flexible schedule, you choose the hours your available. Receive an honorarium for donating your time to the sport of volleyball and stay involved. 

5.. Fundraising Opportunity - Easy, no risk fundraising opportunity at Fort Whyte.  Simply sell raffle tickets, and receive 50% of the gross sales revenue (excluding lost books). Bison Sports- Join us!  The Alumni Association is sponsoring the University of Manitoba Bison sports men's hockey game on Saturday October 4th.  If you would like free tickets to attend the game on October 4th  - or any of the other games we are sponsoring - October 17th - women's hockey, October 25th - women's basketball, or November 1st -  men's volleyball -  please email Tammy Holowachuk at holowac@cc.umanitoba.ca or call 204-474-6455.  Remember, kids under 12 always get in for free!
 
7.. Football Eligibility- last chance to enter your Football eligibility information on line.  Failure to enter your eligibility on-line will result in a $100.00 fine.  Today- Tuesday is the very last day!!
 
8.. Hall of Fame- Congratulations to Lorna Robertson, long time coach of the Hamiota Huskies ladies basketball team on her induction the Manitoba Sports Hal of Fame on November 8.  Long time Volleyball official and physical educator in St. Boniface, Ed Toews is also being inducted along with multi athlete and current principal of Victor H Wyatt school, Jill Mathez.  Congratulations to all of those deserving individuals.
