1.. Coaches Cards - The cost will remain the same at $10.00 for a two year card. Confirmed participants on this year's coaches card include:

2.. Sportsmanship banners The MHSAA is producing a new Sportsmanship banner. These attractive banners will include your school name and logo. The cost is approximately $150.00 each. See a sample on the MHSAA website under latest news http://www.mhsaa.mb.ca/images/new_banner.JPG . Order now for early delivery. Schools are asked to mail a logo to the MHSAA office (not email), so that the printer can get the best possible resolution. 3.. Champions Cross Mentoring Program will be held in Winnipeg on October 30th and 31st. Information will be emailed to schools very shortly. This is an outstanding Drug and Alcohol Education/Leadership/Mentorship program and students should be encouraged to attend. 4.. Rural Soccer Championships - the boys venue has been moved from Shoal Lake to Hoopers Lake, which is 10 minutes South of Birtle. For Accommodations, please consider Virden and Russell, as they are 35 minutes away. (accommodations are on page 29 of the Provincial Handbook). Also, the official Soccer Ball will be the Nike T90 250 or 400 (apparently they are no longer making the 300 as per page xvii in the Handbook).
5.. Zone Sport Websites - If any zones (or conferences) have websites or sport specific sites, please email Carey (Carey@mhsaa.ca) with the website link in order that we can create a link off of the MHSAA website.
6.. Distance/Cross Country Training - Athletics Manitoba is presenting a one day clinic on September 20 to help athletes (juvenile and older) and coaches in their cross country and distance training. The $40.00 registration includes lunch and a long sleeve t-shirt. Registration deadline is September 15th. For more information, please contact Athletics Manitoba at 925-5792

8.. Track and Field Hurdles - Neepawa is looking to purchase good used hurdles. Please contact Bryce or Krista at 476-3305 with the information (they would like to avoid the scissor hurdles).
9.. GM's Club's Coaching Grant - Deadline Approaching!
The General Motors Making Dreams Possible club coaching grant applications are online. This September, another 50+ $2,000 grants will be awarded to community sport clubs across the country for coach training and development. The application deadline is September 26, 2008. 10.. Used Mats - A small private elementary school in north Winnipeg is trying to get a phys ed program going and is looking for used mats. If you have any , please call Steven Katopodis at 232-5029.
11.. Thunder Rapids - School Edutainment Package - great for team windups. $9.95 per person includes Go Kart ride, 18 holes of miniature golf and 1 round of pitches in the batting cage (slow or fast pitch), and a behind the scenes look at Thunder Rapids. 12.. Team Scrapbooks - A new site will allow schools to produce school team yearbooks/scrapbooks at a very reasonable price. Visit www.myTEAMBOOK.net to create memory books for your season and your team. You can create a photo album that includes action shots, mass and individual shots and stories, etc. This is pretty exciting, not that hard to do and it is affordable.
13.. ExNet Online Registration System - please ensure that you enter your school's enrolment numbers FIRST. This will allow you access to the required eligibility sheets on the site. Please complete the School information page (coaches & their email addresses) before September 30 to avoid fines.
14.. True Sport - True Sport grants are available to promote access to sport programs for low income, Aboriginal and new Canadian families in the community. For more information check out www.truesport.ca/tsfund or contact Christine Parsons at 613-521-3340 or cparsons@truesport.ca.
15.. Technology Committee - The MHSAA is trying to create a technology committee. We are looking for a small group of technology savvy individuals to assist the MHSAA in maximizing opportunities through the computer, the web, etc. Please contact Morris if interested, and please circulate to the technology folks that you know.
