1.. Basketball Shot clocks - Daniel McIntyre has a set of very good used shot clocks. They are priced at $2200 brand new, but they are selling them for $1000. Please contact Brad Purpur at 783-7131 or email him at bpurpur@wsd1.org.
2.. "A" Girls Basketball Accommodations in Vita - the Roseau River Bible camp is willing to open up some rooms for this championship. They can hold a number of teams. For more information, please contact Rod at 427-2445

4.. Any schools interested in joining the Manitoba High School Field Lacrosse League are welcome to the first league meeting of 2009 to take place on Thursday, January 29th at 6:30 pm (location TBA - either Sport Manitoba or Vincent Massey Collegiate).
If you are interested in attending the meeting, or finding out more about the league please contact Tracey via email at tgroening@pembinatrails.ca At that time you will know the finalized location, and sent you any information you may need. 7.. Volunteer Recognition - The MHSAA is accepting nominations for the Jostens Zone Volunteer of the Award and MHSAA Certificates of Recognition. These awards are presented annually in June. if you know of someone deserving, contact Morris at morris@mhsaa.ca
8.. Eligibility- Deadline for submitting eligibility online is Feb 6 for Curling and Basketball. Failure to enter your information on-line by this date may result in a $100.00 fine for the school.
9.. Invitation to Jewish Athletes
The Rady JCC is pleased to announce that the Team Winnipeg Delegation will be attending the 2009 JCC Maccabi Games in Mid-Westchester, N.Y. from August 16th - 21st, 2009.
What are the JCC Maccabi Games?
The JCC Maccabi Games are an international Olympic style competition in a variety of events for Jewish teens ages 13 - 16. In addition to athletic events the JCC Maccabi Games features opportunities for Jewish youth to engage in social events with other Jewish teens from around the world.
Applications are now being accepted for the following events:
Team Sports Individual Sports (boys and girls)
Boys Baseball (14 & under, 16 & under) Bowling
Boys Basketball (14 & under, 16 & under) Dance
Girls Basketball (16 & under) Golf
Boys In Line Hockey (16 & under) Swimming
Boys Soccer (14 & under, 16 & under) Table Tennis
Girls Soccer (14 & 16 under) Tennis
Girls Volleyball (16 & under)
Who is eligible?
If you are a Jewish boy or girl between the ages of 13 & 16 as of July 31, 2009, a member of the Rady JCC (or able to become a member), you may apply to attend the JCC Maccabi Games. Successful applicants must have a valid passport and able to travel to the United States.
