MHSAA Update

June 5, 2008
Number 21

1.       MILK Track and Field Championships - Another set of the entries for this weekend's MILK Provincial High School Track and Field Championships are posted on our website.  Please take a moment to view the entries from your school.  The more "corrections" we can make now, the smoother the championships will operate.  Plus, if you have any SCRATCHES, please email them to me ASAP, as we are printing all the heat sheets and field event sheets this evening.  (FINES may be handed out for schools failing to report scratches, as per page 54 of the provincial handbook). Please get those scratches to me TODAY!

2.       MHSAA Board of Directors - Want to be more involved in high school sports? Consider running for a position on the MHSAA Board of Directors.  Positions up for election in June are: Urban Rep, Urban Admin Rep, Female Phys. Ed Rep, and two Rural Representatives.  For further information, contact Morris at 925-5641 or morris@mhsaa.ca

3.       2009 "A" Basketball Championships - We are still looking for a host for next year's (2009) "A" Provincial Basketball Championships.  If we can not find a host, unfortunately those championships will not take place.  If you are interested, please contact Carey soon!

4.       A Friendly reminder -  Volleyball dates for 2008 have been moved due to the SAG date being changed.  The MHSAA Board has decided to move the dates to:

JV Rural Championships - November 20, 21 & 22
JV Urban Championships - November 21 & 22
A, AA, AAA Championships - December 4, 5 & 6
AAAA Championships - December 4, 5 & 8

5.       Brandon Athletic Camps - Brandon University is hosting Basketball, Volleyball and Multi-Sport Camps in August, for further information, check out www.gobobcats.ca/

6.       Bobcat Volleyball Coaches Seminar is being held September 19, 2008 at Brandon University. For further information, contact Russ Paddock at paddockr@brandonu.ca.

7.       Staff Changes - if there are any staff or administrative changes in your school starting in the 2008-2009 season, please email this information to morris@mhsaa.ca, so that it can be included in the September edition of the PACER, and the handbook.
