2.. Track & Field - River East Collegiate is hosting a Mini Meet on Tuesday, April 29th All events except hurdles from 9am-3pm. Note: Throwing events are done on grass. For further information, contact Danielle Fontaine at dfontaine2@retsd.mb.ca.
3.. Five Pin Bowling - There is room for more teams into the high school tournament, on April 19. You can now enter your teams with any denomination of current registered YBC bowlers, as long as there are 2 female & 2 male on each team. Entry deadline is Monday, April 14th, 2008. 4.. Bingo Opportunity - Sport Manitoba, Winnipeg Region invites Winnipeg schools to apply to work a bingo on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 from 6:00pm - 9:45 pm at McPhillips Street Station. Applications may be obtained by calling the Sport Manitoba-Winnipeg Region Office at 925-5904 or from the Sport Manitoba website at www.sportmanitoba.ca/Funding/Grants/Bingo. Completed applications can be forwarded by fax (925-5916) or mailed to 200 Main Street, R3C 4M2. Application deadline is Thursday, May 8th, 2008.
5.. Movie Day in support of Kids Help Phone - Kids Help Phone is very excited to be working with Empire Theatres as they host the First Annual Empire Theatre Movie Day. Please support Kids Help Phone and take in one of the three movies being shown at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 5th at Empire Grant Park 8 Cinemas. Admission is only $3.

7.. Canadian Olympic Committee Calls for Applications for the 2008 Carol Anne Letheren Leadership and Sport Scholarship. The scholarship is a national, three-year, $1,500 per year, university award presented to one outstanding female high school graduate. The award is named in honour of the late Carol Anne Letheren (1942-2001), former chief executive officer of the COC. For more information, visit http://www.olympic.ca/EN/funding/letheren_award.shtml. 10.. Baseball Bats - No change in baseball bats for this season. We are still looking into the merits of wood and aluminum bats. Schools will receive one year's notice in advance of any changes.
