3. Super Seminar for Coaches – will be held on Saturday November 18 at 17 Wing – Winnipeg. It will run from 9:00am – 4:00pm and will feature Sheldon Kennedy as the keynote speaker. Topics of interest include Making Ethical decisions, drug awareness, parenting in sport, body image. Registration deadline is November 10. Call Sandy at 925-5692 or visit coachingmanitoba.ca

4. Champions- last chance to sign up. The Champions Cross Mentoring workshop will be held October 26, 27th at the Sport Manitoba Building, 200 Main Street in Winnipeg. 5. Looking to be more involved with MHSAA? We are currently seeking members for some of our committees – FIBA basketball rules and Winnipeg tiering. If you are interested, contact Morris at 925-5641 or morris@mhsaa.ca.

7. Remembrance Day – Saturday, November 11th, 2006. Just a suggestion to schools holding tournaments on that day, a moment of silence should be observed at 11:00 am.

8. Winnipeg Sun School Zone – We are delighted to have a full page in the Wpg Sun Sports every Friday. We need your assistance. If you know any unique stories, contact Carey or Morris. If you have any stories about Manitoba High School teams, even better. (ie: twins on the team, going after a repeat, long time coach, dedicating the season to someone, father coaching son, etc)

10. Athlete Of The Week nominations – The MHSAA selects a rural and urban Athlete of the Week. To nominate your student athlete, fill out the online form on the MHSAA website. http://www.mhsaa.mb.ca/pages/athlete_of_the_week_Nomination_form.php

11. Changing at the Bench – A reminder that changing at the bench is not permitted. We have received several complaints about this. We do not want to fine schools for this infraction.
