MHSAA Update

1. Hockey Eligibility Sheets – just a reminder, that the deadline for completion of your online eligibility sheets for hockey is November 14. A maximum of 23 names are permitted. All AP players must be included in the list. No additions after this date.

2. MHSAA logo merchandise – Check out http://www.mhsaa.mb.ca/pages/merchandise/merchandise.php to see the latest items. These are great for gifting and for coaches’ recognition. Buy now, and save even more - no taxes.

3. MHSAA Committees - We are currently inviting members to sit on the FIBA basketball rules and Winnipeg tiering committees. If you are interested, contact Morris at 925-5641 or morris@mhsaa.ca.

4. Dr. Dale Iwanoczko Memorial Volleyball Scholarship – Application forms are now available on the website, http://www.mhsaa.mb.ca/pages/forms.php, please inform your qualified athletes. The scholarships have increased to $750.00 this year.

5. Sport Manitoba Travel Assistance – Just a reminder to all schools, that will participate in Volleyball Provincials, and those that will be participating in upcoming provincials, to apply for travel assistance from Sport Manitoba, through your regional manager. 6. Volleyball Deadline Dates – There are some errors in the handbook in regards to volleyball deadline dates.

- Wildcard and Seeding information is due as follows:
A, AA and AAA are due on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 4:00pm
AAAA are due on Friday, Nov. 17 at 4:00pm

- Roster information is due to the respective convenor as follows:
A, AA and AAA are due on Wednesday, Nov. 22
AAAA is due on Friday, Nov. 21 by 4:00pm

7. Super Seminar for Coaches – Only two weeks left to register! (November 10th deadline for registration). This seminar will be held on Saturday November 18 at 17 Wing – Winnipeg. It will run from 9:00am – 4:00pm and will feature Sheldon Kennedy as the keynote speaker. Topics of interest include Making Ethical decisions, drug awareness, parenting in sport, body image. 8. Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame Annual Induction Dinner - Congratulations to Randy Kusano, long-time coach and physical educator at Oak Park High School, who will be inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame this weekend as a member of the Nicolett Inn Senior Mens Basketball team

9. Bison Volleyball – Don’t forget the Bison Volleyball home opener vs the Wesmen, this Friday, November 3rd with the women’s game at 6:00 and the men’s gem at 8:00 pm. Lots of prizes. For more information, visit www.gobisons.ca.
