MHSAA Update

1. Badminton Championship Accommodations - Accommodations in Thompson may be difficult to get if zones do not book soon. There are absolutely no other accommodations near Thompson, so it is crucial that zones book their accommodations as soon as possible for this championship. A list of hotels are on page 52 of the Provincial Handbook.

2. Application form for the Dr. Dale Iwanoczko memorial $500.00 Volleyball Scholarships are on line now. Deadline for applications is December 14. One male and one female may be nominated from each school.

3. Deadline for entering high school hockey eligibility is Tuesday November 15. No additions after this date. All rostered and AP players must be entered.

4. Basketball headgear etc, The MHSAA is currently developing a policy in regards to basketball players and religious articles. We currently permit Turbans and Yarmulkes as headwear. Are there any other religious items that you are aware of that we should be looking at? Please notify Morris by email (morris@mhsaa.ca) or phone, 925-5641 ASAP with any concerns.

5. Please be sure that you register all tournaments on the MHSAA website and report tournament results to the MHSAA by the Monday noon following your tournament. Failure to do so may result in a fine.

6. Boston Pizza Fundraising - Boston Pizza has a unique fundraiser called Boston Booster. Call Andrew at Boston Pizza, 925-4110 for more information (email Andrew@mbpizza.ca) or email morris@mhsaa.ca. This is for Winnipeg, Portage and Selkirk locations.

7. Teams traveling to Provincials - Make sure that you apply for Sport Manitoba funding. Application books have been distributed at zone meetings or contact your local Sport Manitoba representative - www.sportmanitoba.mb.ca

8. Basketball rulebooks and scoresheets are available. The cost is $14.25 for a rulebook and $6.25 for a set of 25 scoresheets. If you need them mailed to you, there is an additional 10% shipping charge as well. Order forms are available on the website.

9. Changing on the bench - Changing at the bench for boys and girls teams is not acceptable. Please ensure that your teams use the change room.
