MHSAA Update

1. Tournament Bulletin Board – Many tournaments are listed on the tournament bulletin board on the MHSAA website. Click on, http://www.mhsaa.mb.ca/phpBB2/, to look for tournaments to attend, or to post your tournament as looking for teams.

2. The Annual General Meeting is quickly approaching. Human Rights and Long Term Athlete Development will be the major focus of this year’s meeting. Registration forms are on the website, http://www.mhsaa.mb.ca/pdfs/2006_agm_reg_form.pdf. Cost is only $170.00. Plan now to attend as this will certainly be a very interesting and history making Annual General Meeting. Mark June 19 & 20th on your calendars.

3. Board of Directors Representation – We have two urban positions and one female P. E. representative open on the Board of Directors for the coming school year. These are a two-year term positions. Call Morris at 925-5641 or morris@mhsaa.ca for further information.

4. Sunglasses Clear Out – Sundog Sunglasses are available at the clear out price of $25.00 each. For further information check out http://www.mhsaa.mb.ca/pages/merchandise/merchandise.php.

5. Official MHSAA Volleyballs and Basketballs – Home Run Sports is offering special prices to MHSAA schools. You can purchase the official MHSAA Tachikara volleyballs for $50.00 each, and the official basketball, Wilson Evolution, for $38.00. 6. High Jump Pits – Any school that has a high jump pit for sale, please contact Lloyd Voth at St. Paul’s High School, at lvoth@merlin.mb.ca or 831-2311.

7. World Cup Diving Trials (2006 FINA World Cup) – are being held at the Pan Am Pool from June 8 – 11th. This event is being hosted by the Pan Am Diving Club. Tickets are available at the door. Adults $5.00, family pass $10.00, under 12 free.

8. Sport Manitoba Changes – Adam Wedlake will be the new Executive Director of Basketball Manitoba, while Connie Blamey is retiring as Executive Director of the Manitoba Badminton Association.

9. Staff Changes – Let us know about any retirements or transfers, etc. in your school or division, mhsaa@mhsaa.ca.
