Championship Dates - The 2006-2007 Championship dates
are now posted on the MHSAA website. Click on Provincial
Championships to find those dates.

Annual General Meeting - Just a reminder that the Annual
General Meeting will be held in Portage La Prairie,
June 18th, 19th and 20th. Mark those dates on your calendar,
and plan to attend. It is a great opportunity to take
part in the legislative process of the MHSAA, and learn
about what goes on and how issues are decided.

Volleyball Players - Lethbridge Community College is
looking for volleyball players for their men's team.
Mark Nelson, a former player at Silver Heights Collegiate
in Winnipeg, is the coach. There are opportunities for
out of province bursaries and scholarships as well.

Maccabia Games - Looking for Jewish athletes. The 2006
Maccabia Games will be in Vancouver from August 13th
to 18th. The Rady Jewish Community Centre is looking
for Jewish athletes between the ages 13 and 16 as of
July 31st. Possible sports include swimming, bowling,
golf, tennis, track, basketball, soccer, girls volleyball
and inline hockey. An information session will be held
on Monday, January 30th at the Rady Jewish Community
Centre from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. For more information on
the games, contact Mark at 477-7543. Please circulate
this information to any Jewish athletes in your school.

University of Manitoba Women's Soccer - the University
of Manitoba Bisons Women's Soccer Team will be hosting
an informational meeting on Monday, February 13th, 2006
at 7:30PM in room 136 of the Frank Kennedy Centre. This
meeting would be of interest to any prospective players
(current graduating and S3 players) that are interested
in playing soccer at the university level. There will
also be a spring identification camp May 5th, 6th and
7th. Further information is available by calling Walt

Sport Manitoba Bingo - Sport Manitoba Winnipeg Region
has a bingo on Sunday, March 5th from 3:15 to 6:45 PM
at Club Regent. This will be a $1,500.00 opportunity.
This bingo is available to schools that will be hosting
major championships that will leave a legacy for sport,
special grants for sport development etc. Ineligible
expenses are: uniforms, awards, travel outside the province
and banquet costs. Further information is available

Tenders - The MHSAA is reevaluating whether or not we
will be issuing tenders for the coming year. Please
let us know your thoughts on whether you use the tenders
and whether or not you think they are worthwhile. Please
contact morris@mhsaa.ca
to let him know your thoughts and suggestions on this
process.
8.
Athlete of the Week - Just a reminder to please nominate
student athletes for Athlete of the Week. It is a great
opportunity for recognition. The nomination form is
on the MHSAA website
