MHSAA Update

August 24, 2005

Welcome Back!

1. Brandon University Volleyball Coaches' Clinic - Brandon University will be hosting a Volleyball Coaches' Clinic on Friday, September 23rd. Fourteen Presentations - basic and advanced sessions. For further information, contact Russ Paddock 204-727-7375 or paddockr@brandonu.ca.

2. Winnipeg Bingo - Sport Manitoba Winnipeg Region has a bingo available on Friday, September 23rd, 2005 at Club Regent - arrival time 4:30 PM, departure time 6:45 PM. For further information, or an application form, contact Amanda at 925-5907 or email winnipeg@sport.mb.ca
Remember: These are for Winnipeg schools only.

3. Tournament Registration - Please register your tournaments online as soon as possible.

4. School Information Sheets - Please ensure that you update your school information data online, and check all of your coaches' email addresses. Please try to input all email addresses so we can communicate effectively with all coaches and schools. Too often, we do not have a coach's email address and they do not get information about seeding, wildcards, scholarships, etc. and they may consequently get fined or miss a deadline date.

5. Athletic Eligibility Sheets - Just a reminder that before you can enter your sport eligibility sheets, you must enter your enrollment numbers on the School Information Sheet. ExNet will not allow you to have teams until it knows you have students.

6. Eligibility Appeals - Deadline for eligibility appeals is Thursday, September 15, 2005. Remember these must be approved by the zone first. See page 6 in the handbook for more information.

7. Champions - The Champions Cross Mentoring Program takes place September 30th and October 1st in Winnipeg. Contact Ron at 925-5643 for more details.

8. High School Sports Week - October 17 - 22 - Plan now!

9. Changing at the Bench - A reminder that changing at the bench for volleyball, for boys or girls, is not acceptable and schools doing so at registered tournaments or Provincials may be fined.

10. Calendars - Schools wishing additional MHSAA wall calendars should contact Christine at 925-5640 or info@mhsaa.ca.

11. Handbook Corrections - Due to an error with a new program being utilized by Sport Manitoba Print Services, several of our corrections to the Handbook were not made when it came time for printing. The MHSAA and Sport Manitoba apologize for these errors.
