MHSAA celebrating 50 years-  Nominate an athlete, team or volunteer...  The Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year.  We are hoping to name Teams and Athletes of the decades.  The public is asked to help by nominating teams or  athletes or volunteers.  Send us the name of a team or athlete, the sport, the dates of competition, the school, the successes, etc.  Please send to mhsaa@mhsaa.ca  Deadline for nominations is December 15.

Oct 19, 2011   CROSS COUNTRY PROVINCIALS A HUGE SUCCESS -  1200 runners took part in the 2011 Cross Country Championship which were held at Spruce Woods Provincial park.  The runners were treated to a special day, as members of the Canadian Forces from CFB Shilo participated and used a howitzer/cannon as the starting gun.  Thanks to all schools and to the hosts from Zone 7 as well as the crew from Shilo.  For more check out  http://mhsaa.e-crew.ca/page.cfm?s=28&

    

October 17, 2011….. PROVINCIAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP SET.. The Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association is pleased to announce the Provincial High School Cross Country Championships will take place this Wednesday, October 19 at Spruce Woods Provincial Park.  The course will be run on the Epinette Creek Trail with approximately 1200 student athletes participating. <more>

Oct. 5, 2011........MILK Run successful...Around 1500 students took part in the 2nd annual Milk Cross Country Challenge held at Harbour View Park.  The event featured races for grade 4 and up.  This event is a partnership between Dairy Farmers of Manitoba, Athletics Manitoba and MHSAA. Banners were presented to the team winner in each grade category and chocolate Milk distributed to all participants.  It was a record breaking 31 degrees and a great day for a fun run.  Congratulations to all participants.

September 8, 2011….HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS SEASON UNDERWAY.. The 2011-2012 school year is well underway and so are High School Sports!   Thirty one schools  participating in the Winnipeg High School Football League have begun their schedule while the volleyball courts, cross country running tracks, hockey rinks and soccer pitches are all very active with tryouts and practices underway.  <more>

 

Sept. 7, 2011........HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SEASON UNDERWAY..    Thirty one teams, in three Divisions  begin play in the 2011 High School Football Season. Eight teams will be participating in the top tier Potter division, while 15 teams will be participating in the Vidruk Division , and another 8 round out the Currie loop.  For schedules and results, visit www.whsfl.ca
